Wrapping Up Mission Two

Neither of my games were successfully able to go through the build process so they are not linked here but they were checked in class.

Working through the twenty four hours of tutorials and guides on coding in mission two was quite the endeavor. The tutorials did a great job of building off of the terms we used in the last mission all while introducing new and complex topics with lots of versatility. The programs we learned how to put together could be reused in countless other games, this was demonstrated in the mission checkpoint where we had to come up with a way to use the counting mechanic. There was a long list of ideas and games that all centered around scoring the number of objects that land in an area, but that varied greatly otherwise. At times it was challenging to keep up with the teacher's instructions and reasonings so I had to go back over material and some things I still don't fully understand but I learned how to achieve many different outcomes with code.

The game tutorials were interesting and it was really satisfying to see everything come together but the mission checkpoint activities were the most satisfying to me. The independence that comes with making code your own and bringing in your own assets is very creatively stimulating. Sadly I wasn't able to get the players movement to work fully in the counting activity but I'm hoping to go back and work out the bugs once I finish mission three.
