The storyboarding process really made me make some detailed story choices that I hadn't thought of before. I was forced to really think about the plot and the consequences it might have on actual game play. I hadn't really though about whether or not the mentor actually dies, or the areas the player might have to go to between the starter world and the final one. I might change the storyline to having the mentor just get sick instead of dying so the player can reunite with him at the end. The player will most likely not spend time in the village so I don't have to deal with NPCs or people, I think they will have to venture through some caves and fields before they reach the final firey area. The starter area will be free of monsters because it makes for a nice tutorial area and that would make sense for the player's childhood safe haven. The storyboarding process was helpful though and I look forward to developing it more.
