I have recently attempted creating an art based social media profile and I'm starting to understand why all my favorite online artists always feel super stressed. I have not put a crazy amount of effort into the account yet but I'm hoping it will be a good way to show off my art and I thought it might push me to draw on my own more. So far neither of those things has really happened, I have a tiny following and that's only logical because I haven't been posting regularly or showing the improvement I hoped for. I'm hoping with a little more time on my hands over winter break I'll be able to put more effort and time into the page and art so I'm more satisfied with what I'm making.
So far I've made multiple promises to the small number of followers I have about making deadlines for getting new projects out but school has always overtaken my plans. I work hard in school and it's always been my main focus but it kind of sucks putting textbook work above creative projects on my list of priorities.
Just a few days ago I realized this art account was for me and it wasn't going to get any better if I didn't start putting more effort in so I started using it for some things I'm really excited about. I hope to try a few new mediums, trying to make the page itself a little more stylized and appealing, actually coming out with new art and interacting with my tiny community for suggestions. It will take time but I'm excited for the possibilities ahead.
