As someone who would love to pursue digital art in the future, using photoshop for the first time has been a leap in the right direction. Even though we are simply learning the basics of this software, I am incredibly excited and interested. While I have started what I can only assume will be a long list of mistakes, and the undo shortcuts have been used many times on my account, I am proud of my work so far. My art might not be perfect, but honestly, I am just happy to be working with this new medium and learning new ways to alter files. I have already gotten quite used to non-destructive editing so I doubt that will be a problem in the future. I have some adjusting to do when it comes to brushes and drawing though, I usually try to be way too detailed or my lines look sloppy. I have, on multiple occasions, messed with the brush settings and made things worse, but I am sure I will learn eventually. I know that over time I’ll get more and more comfortable with this software and I will know how to alter the settings to my advantage. So far photoshop has been complicated and we have only scratched the surface but as I said I am sure we will all adjust, after all, Photoshop itself has come a long way since 1990 and I would love to see what is have to offer now. Layers are key in essentially everything you do in photoshop but there are so many more possibilities and I would love to explore them all.
