As I have stated before on this page, 3D modeling is not my forte and, I was somewhat dreading this year because that's all we're doing. While that was definitely how I felt at the start of the school year, I think I am becoming more comfortable with the software and creative headspace. I think my main problem was not understanding how to manipulate the objects like I was sculpting them but now that I'm getting the hang of things, I am actually enjoying coming up with new ways to make complex shapes. My projects are still pretty basic and, I have tutorials guiding me through everything but now I know how to add my own flourishes on things and make them unique to my thought process.
For example, on my first project, I had no idea how to apply modifiers, use any box modeling, or surface modeling techniques other than bevel, and was oblivious to the different basic shapes you could start with. I know it hasn't even been a full semester but I think my skills have improved and I'm genuinely excited to keep finding new ways to create.
