While this summer has been complicated I have decided to take this time work on my drawing skills and trying to find my preferred art style. While being flexible when it comes to drawing style is great once you get into the industry, it would be a great help to know what my personal preferences are and I have really struggled to find mine. I thought I should go more towards the cartoon route rather than realistic but after spending some time drawing I'm not so sure. I have mostly been focusing on drawing proportionally and figuring out color schemes but every time I draw a person I find myself stuck once I get to their head. In order to challenge myself I offered to draw anyone on my social media that requested it. This challenge ended up going side ways because while my friends enjoyed it, and I liked drawing the different poses from their reference images, I was still flipping back and forth between face styles. I now think I have found one that I enjoy but there are still many things I have to work on. All and all I think my skills have improved this summer especially when it comes to drawing from a reference picture and following requests but I still have many things to learn before I feel comfortable in my skills.
